The owners of this Victorian-style home wanted a high-quality renovation which not only blended in seamlessly with the existing structure and interior, but used as much of the original building materials and features as possible.
A main focus of this project was the addition of a large kitchen, master bathroom, entry area/laundry room, and a dining and sitting area, as well as the construction of a new screened gazebo and side porch.
Baud Builders sourced select materials to match the historic architecture throughout, such as new Marvin windows which featured the same grill pattern as the 100-year old windows. The exterior of the gazebo harmonizes with the existing structure. New roof shingles were installed on the entire home, and all chimneys were rebuilt. Demolition of the 1960s-era existing kitchen and bathroom was selective as well. Not everything was removed, for example, the walls and other materials from the kitchen were used in the new pantry area.
The result is a larger, more functional and efficient living space which meets the needs of the family-oriented homeowners.
